The short version
RubbleFront does not collect personal data. It has no accounts, and the current build makes no network calls. This website uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Its only browser storage is your choice of light or dark theme.
What the game keeps on your computer
The game writes its files to its own user data folder on your computer. These are your three save slots, your settings and profile, achievements, statistics, the record for the Daily challenge, battle and run saves, and any photos you take in Photo mode.
The game also writes log files, one for each session, and keeps the last five. A log file lists the game version, your operating system and language, your processor and graphics card names, your display size, and what the game did during the session. Home folder paths are shortened, so your user name does not appear. The log files do not contain the contents of your saves.
The game never uploads these files.
Report a problem
The Report a problem screen shows you where the log folder is and can open it. When you press its button, the game copies a short diagnostics text to your clipboard. Nothing is sent. If you choose to email that text to us, we receive what you sent, and we use it only to look into the problem.
Steam
RubbleFront will be sold on Steam. When you play through Steam, Steam may receive your achievements and statistics, store your saves in Steam Cloud if you have that turned on, and show the Steam overlay. The Steam version will also use Steam's rich presence to show your friends the game screen you are on. Valve's privacy policy, on the Steam website, covers the data Steam handles. You can turn off Steam Cloud for the game in Steam's settings.
Text you copy yourself
A Daily result line and a replay code are text that you copy yourself. They contain the game's seed and your moves, and no personal data.
This website
The site is hosted by Netlify. Netlify's own service handles and records the requests it receives, under Netlify's privacy policy. The site does not load fonts, scripts or images from other companies.
The only thing this site saves in your browser is your choice of light or dark theme, under the name rubblefront-theme in localStorage. It is never sent anywhere. If your browser blocks storage, the site still works, and the theme resets on your next visit.
The newsletter form is handled by Netlify Forms. When you sign up, your email address is stored with Netlify, and we read it there. We use it only to announce the demo and the launch. To be removed from that list, email ben@purplelink.llc.
What we do not do
We do not track you, build profiles of you, show ads, sell data, or share data with anyone. The game does not contact any server of ours.
Children
RubbleFront is not aimed at children. It has no chat, no user content and no online features.
Deleting your data
To remove what the game keeps, delete the game's user data folder. The Report a problem screen shows where that folder is. If you use Steam Cloud, the saves stored there can be removed from Steam.
Changes to this page
If a later version of the game collects any data, this page will change before that version is released, and the release notes will say so.
